How to Cook Whole Dungeness Crab
Dungeness crab is easy to cook, but we at Lummi make it easier. We pre-cook the crabs and flash freeze them before shipping out. This helps to preserve the crab’s flavor and texture, guaranteeing a delicious meal. Crustacean meat, like what you’d get from a crab or lobster, degrades quickly after the fish dies. It is an industry standard to pre-cook crab and lobster before selling the meat.
When your Dungeness crab arrives, you need only to heat it up to enjoy a delicious meal. We tend to like our Dungeness crab prepared simply – steamed and eaten with butter. But we know that our customers like to cook, and Dungeness lends a beautiful flavor to a variety of dishes. Here are a few of our favorite recipes.
That said, we also know that some of our customers may be first-time seafood eaters. Steaming, boiling, or baking your Dungeness order shouldn’t be difficult, but for some, it might feel intimidating. We have our own dedicated How to Cook Dungeness Crab page to help you out.
