Description
Our Alaskan Pacific Cod is sustainably long line caught and frozen at sea off the Alaskan Coast. Also known as “true” cod, all wild Pacific cod online is different from black cod, or sablefish. Rather, Pacific Cod has a firm, flaky texture, and slightly sweet flavor. It is a lean, low-calorie fish that can be used in a variety of recipes. Unlike sablefish, this seafood has a very mild taste and low fat content. This is an excellent choice for folks new to whitefish – it’s mild, relatively inexpensive, and always sustainably sourced.

If you’re worried about timing your shipping with when you’ll be at home, you can select a specific shipping and receiving day during checkout.
Pacific cod is naturally very lean. This means it will last longer in the freezer than, say, sablefish, or a fattier type of seafood. First time ordering from Lummi Island. Was glad to find out about you because where I had been ordering fish from in Washington before, the company was bought out by a conglomerate. Things tended to go downhill after that.
The only comment was the shipping. Dry ice was non-existent by the time it arrived in Arizona. Most of the fish was still frozen pretty well except for 3 pieces of cod that had to be eaten right away. There wasn’t much insulating “denim” on top of the fish and that was where it was starting to thaw.
The cod, sablefish, and Halibut were outstanding though.

Love the fish. The only disadvantage was my timing. It was very hot and UPS drives rolling ovens. A few of the fish were ever so slightly beginning to soften. l was a bit skeptical until I cooked the ever so’s and they were excellent. I don’t have fish often but when I do my timing will be better and I look forward to connecting with you. Thanks
