Chum Ikura – salt cured salmon roe – has a vibrant, orange color and super clean flavor. Large egg size (about 5mm) that are plump and mature, with a consistent “pop” and mouthfeel. Low salt finish with a sticky, not juicy, consistency. Number 1 grade.
Our Chum Salmon Ikura comes from wild, Salish Sea Chum (Keta) Salmon and is produced with a custom 2.6% brine, which preserves the clean flavor without adding too much sodium to your diet.
Salmon roe is a superfood which is very rich in omega 3 fatty acids, and good for brain development and immune systems, especially those of children. Sought by caviar lovers everywhere, salted wild salmon roe (Ikura) has become a prized delicacy.
This Chum Salmon Ikura can be eaten in sushi rolls, served as an appetizer with crackers and a soft cheese, or simply eaten on its own. There is no wrong way to eat salmon roe and it is a healthy, rewarding snack.

I have been eating Ikura since 2016. For years I was ordering from another company. After their quality seemed to go downhill a couple of years ago, back in 2021 I started to search for another source. After trying a few different ones, luckily I found Lummi Island Wild, and have been ordering from them ever since. This is a good amount or roe which I plan to use over a period of time. Therefore I really liked the packaging–lets me scoop out small portions, place a small piece of plastic wrap over the opening, and reseal the exterior package. Shipping was timely and dry ice kept everything perfect.
